Creative Stocking Stuffer Ideas

Fuel those little artistic minds with these creative stocking stuffers for toddlers. These are small gifts that provide a lot of open ended creation and play.

1. PLAYDOUGH

I love this Eco-Dough for toddlers who may still put most things into their mouths. The colors are beautiful and you can split a pack between two kids if you’d like to.

2. COLORED MASKING TAPE

We play with tape more than I ever expected. We use it to make pictures and shapes on construction paper, to play while we’re waiting at restaurants, and we use it while traveling to entertain ourselves.

It comes off of any surface easily, so it’s easy to clean up when we’re done! You can also use it to make a raceway on the floor for cars! It’s a random but very fun toddler stocking stuffer.

3. DO-A-DOT MARKERS

These toddler markers have long been a favorite art supply in our house and I love how easy they are for toddlers to grasp and hold—and how many different ways there are to color with these!

4. WATER WOW COLORING BOOKS

These water coloring books have saved us on so many occasions that I try to have one on hand whenever we go anywhere. They’re perfect for quiet play in restaurants or in the car and are the ideal size and skill level for toddlers.

5. MINI STICKER SET

With endless options for making animal faces, this is a great stocking stuffer that will come in so handy on a snowy day! We love to make scenes with stickers and paper and the tactile fine motor skill involved in getting stickers off the paper onto another one is great for little hands.

6. STAMP KIT

I’ve never met a kit who didn’t love to stamp (and be stamped!) and this mini set is a perfect toddler stocking stuffer.

These will be for older kiddos in the bunch, but I will say that my two year old loves taking the pieces out and putting them back in. Which means this is a gift that both she and her older sister love to play with.

4. I SPY BOARD BOOKS

My kids LOVED these books as toddlers and I love how many different ways there are for us to engage with the pages.

5. DUPLO SET

With just a few pieces and a fun design to put together and play with, this Duplo Ladybug Set is a perfect stocking stuffer for kids!

Wearable Toddler Stocking Stuffers

For any of these that are sold in sets, you can totally break the sets up to share among more than one child to make the fun (and your dollars!) stretch even farther.

1. ANIMAL TIGHTS

Fun tights make clothes much more fun and it’s one of my favorite simple ways to inspire my toddler to get out of her pjs in the morning. Bonus points for tights that look like animals that are also machine-washable!

2. WINTER HAT AND MITTEN SET

Whether your toddler needs a new or backup winter hat and mittens (because let’s face it, they are so easy to lose!), stashing one into the stocking is always a good idea. This buffalo check set comes in a few color ways too.

3. 3D ANIMAL SOCKS

Nothing makes getting dressed in the morning more fun than fun socks! (At least, it certainly can’t hurt!)

4. PIGGY PAINT

Non-toxic and kid-safe, these bright nail polish are so fun. Plus, they dry really fast, which is a big plus when working with kids.

5. TEMPORARY TATER TATS TATTOOS

My kids LOVE these produce temporary tattoos, which are easy to apply and don’t last forever. They’re a super fun way to get little kids into eating their veggies…or at the very least, recognizing them!

6. ANIMAL SLIPPERS

We have a hand-me-down pair of these Garnet Hill slippers from my nephew (the dragon ones!) and T has hardly taken them off since. They’re super cozy, soft, and come in so many fun designs.

Little toys and extra-special items (like a new toothbrush and fun Bandaids) are a perfect way to round out a child’s stocking. And actually, many of these would be great stocking stuffers for babies too.

1. NO-SPILL BUBBLES

Go for the mini no-spill bubbles and everyone will thank you for the hours of entertainment from this toddler stocking stuffer.

3. SILK SCARVES

We love these for dancing and dress up—they’re lightweight, easy to tie into superhero capes, and so versatile. We’ve even been known to take them on airplane rides for endless games of peekaboo.

4. FIREFLY LIGHT UP TOOTHBRUSHES

If you’ve never tried one of these toddler toothbrushes, they are so handy! The light blinks for the duration that they need to brush, which is somehow much more fun than counting or singing a song.

5. CHARACTER BANDAIDS

I’m not sure what it is about toddlers and bandaids, but they love them! Pick up a package of their favorite character for happy stocking opening come Christmas.

6. GO FISH

There’s a reason that Go Fish is a classic and it’s a fun first card game to play with the whole family.

1. SQUEASY GEAR POUCH

This reusable silicone pouch is our go-to for smoothies and has been for the past year and a half. We have both sizes and use them depending on the snacking needs and I recommend this for all parents wanting to serve more smoothies and yogurt to their kids in a virtually mess-free way!

2. CHEWTENSILS

For a baby just learning to feed themselves, these chunky utensils are so easy for their little hands to grip. Plus, they’re made of durable silicone, have raised bumps on the back of the spoon to help soothe gums, and are super easy to clean.

3. KLEEN KANTEEN WATER BOTTLE

  1. Hi,
I love this list, but a bunch of items are not available or the link doesn’t work. Just wanted to let you know!

    1. Oh shoot, I just checked them all and they were available so that must have happened recently. I’ll try to update it again!

  2. 5 stars
Great list! I would also add a set of Kids GROK cards which are super fun to play while fostering emotional literacy, compassion and empathy.

  3. Love the list! Thank you!

Something else I’m adding to my almost 1 year old’s stocking is some of the Indestructible books! They’re great!

  4. GREAT LIST! I went from trying to think of what to put in the stocking to trying to figure out what to leave out 🙂

  5. Hi Amy!

I love each one of suggestions you had – thank you very much for your effort. It is such a comfort to know that I can trust the things you recommend.

Ahh one auggestion for improvement: I am reading these while nursing on my phone and the the things pop up block the entire view. I wonder if anything can be done. I had to bat off the pop ups multiple times.

    1. Thank you for that feedback. Things shouldn’t be popping up repeatedly or blocking the whole screen so I will for sure look into that tomorrow!

  6. Hi Amy,

I love some of your recipes. They are healthy and yummy. Just a suggestion your website has got too many ads pop up. Sometimes I feel too tried to continue reading.

    Thanks

  7. You are amazing! I was at a loss with not wanting to get junk but loving the idea of stockings. Great finds!

  8. Thank you so much for these ideas. Mimi is very happy to find these and get them for my grandchildren for Christmas.

  9. My son also loves those tiny Japanese erasers that can come apart and then be put together like a mini puzzle. Best for over 3, though, since they are a choking hazard.
