Find the best, easy frozen dessert recipes to share with the kids. From popsicles and ice cream to frozen yogurt, sorbet, and more, this list is a perfect place to start for refreshing snacks and desserts.
All year long, but especially in the summer, I make a lot of frozen treats and frozen dessert recipes. Part of this is simply because they are yummy, but the other reason is that they are so darn easy. Without cooking or baking, you can make snacks and desserts to share with the kids (and other adults) in almost any flavor you like.
In this post, you’ll find my best popsicles (for toddlers and also baby popsicles), frozen yogurt, ice cream, frozen novelties, and more. There are options without added sugar, ones made with less sweetener than traditional recipes, and ones with nutritious ingredients—and all of them are seriously delicious.

Greek Frozen Yogurt
For an easier take on homemade vanilla ice cream, try this Greek Frozen Yogurt. It’s a frozen dessert recipe that’s creamy like custard, has a bright pop of flavor from lemon, and requires only a bowl and a spoon to make.
2-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream
It takes about 5 minutes to make this frozen dessert, there are four yummy flavor options (including homemade chocolate shell), and just so good. It’s one of the best ways to use frozen bananas in a soft-serve mix.
Blueberry Ice Cream (No Churn)
With just three ingredients and no churning or special methods required, this Blueberry Ice Cream is a fast frozen dessert recipe that always hits the spot.
Homemade Frozen Yogurt
It’s thick, creamy, and hits the spot on warm days—or any day you’re craving frozen yogurt. And the best part? It’s ready in minutes.
2-Ingredient Mango Sorbet
To me, this is the perfect dessert or afternoon snack because the fruit flavor is balanced with some protein, so it’s a nice source of nutrients and super yummy.
Favorite Strawberry Frozen Yogurt
This Strawberry Frozen Yogurt is super easy to make, filled with nutritious ingredients, and is so darn creamy. Bonus: You don’t even need an ice cream maker to make it!
Blueberry Popsicles
Pack fruits and veggies into your next batch of freezer pops with these super simple and delicious Blueberry Popsicles. That’s right—they have a dose of spinach inside for extra nutrition for the kids!
So Good Fudge Pops
Treat the kids to the creamiest homemade Fudge Pops—one of the best frozen desserts I’ve ever made. Seriously, these are packed with nutritious ingredients, but the texture is identical to a classic pudding pop and they are SO darn good.
Fruit Ice Pops
This method works with almost any fruit, you can add optional ingredients for flavor or creaminess, and it’s a really fun way to offer fruit to the kids.
Easy Grape Pops
This dessert is easy, fresh, and packed with pure grape flavor. These pops are a refreshing snack and packed with nutrients and hydration too!
Peach Popsicles
They are quick to make, super flavorful, and a nourishing snack or dessert to share with the kiddos.
Easy Strawberry Popsicles (with Greek Yogurt)
These homemade Strawberry Popsicles are a staple in our house. They are sweet, a tiny bit tangy, nutritious (from berries and Greek yogurt), and are so fast to make.
Fresh Watermelon Popsicles
This is such a fun way to offer a hydrating food, and there are two simple ways to make them: either by freezing wedges of melon or by blending the fruit and freezing it in popsicle molds.
Frozen Yogurt Bites
I love serving nutritious ingredients in all sorts of ways and these frozen yogurt bites have become a fun afternoon snack we turn to often in my house. Make them plain with just yogurt or add layers of sliced fruit.
Favorite Yogurt Bark
We’ve been making frozen yogurt bark for a few years now as both a cool treat to share with the kids and an easy option when there’s a teething toddler in the house. It’s one of our very favorite ways to mix up how we serve yogurt and honestly, it’s just so fun.
Homemade Ice Cream Cake
This would work for any occasion, kids birthday, holiday, or just a fun way to celebrate a random weekend. We have now made this layer cake a handful of times in a few different flavors—including dairy-free and with sherbet—and each one has been a total hit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Popsicles, frozen yogurt, ice cream cake, homemade ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, gelato, and more are examples of frozen desserts.
It may depend on the specific recipe, but baby popsicles like my mango popsicles can be an easy baby snack and great for teething.
The frozen dessert recipes in this post contain less added sugar than conventional ice cream, making them a yummy choice to share with the kids.
How to Store
Store popsicles, sorbet, frozen yogurt, and other frozen dessert recipes in an airtight storage container or freezer bag for up to 3 months.
Best Tips for Success
- Run a plastic popsicle mold under warm water for 15-30 seconds to help release the popsicle if needed.
- Let yogurt-based popsicles sit at room temperature for 10 minutes so they soften and are a little creamy before serving.
- Add fudge sauce to homemade ice cream cake if desired.
- Frozen yogurt and ice creams may need to sit at room temperature a little longer to soften. Stir before serving to eliminate ice crystals, if needed.
- Find the best popsicle mold for your frozen treats to use season after season.
- Taste mixtures before freezing to ensure they are sweet enough for your family.
