Combine four simple ingredients into a delicious Peach Cottage Cheese Smoothie with incredible creaminess and plenty of protein. It even has more than 100% of the daily RDA for Vitamin C and has perfect smoothie texture!
I’m always looking for easy smoothie recipes for kids to make to share with my kids for snacks or to serve with meals. This combination is one of our new favorites—and I love how much fresh fruit is packed inside! There’s nothing fancy in this smoothie, and it’s incredibly straightforward to make.
I use cottage cheese in this smoothie to add creaminess and protein—without the need for protein powder. It’s also a great way to add a calcium-rich food if the kids need more calcium in their regular meals and snacks.
It blends up super creamy so you really won’t notice that it’s there, either in texture or in flavor.
I like to use whole milk cottage cheese (sometimes called 4% fat) to make sure that this smoothie is satisfying and that the kids are getting the healthy fats they need.

Ingredients You Need
To make this easy Peach Cottage Cheese Smoothie, you’ll need to have the following ingredients on hand and ready to go.
- Banana: A very ripe banana will have the best flavor here.
- Frozen peaches: Look for sliced frozen peaches in the freezer aisle of your supermarket.
- Cottage cheese: I prefer whole milk cottage cheese.
- Milk: I like to use nondairy milk in smoothies, but any will work.
TIP: You can use a fresh peach if you have it. Simply add a few ice cubes to make sure the smoothie is super cold and creamy.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can use berries like strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or cherries instead of the peaches if you prefer.
To make this without banana, substitute ½ cup frozen diced mango.
By adding cottage cheese to a smoothie, you are adding creaminess to the texture and also grams of protein and calcium.
Honestly, you can’t even really tell that there is cottage cheese in this smoothie since it’s blended until creamy with the rest of the ingredients. And it adds creaminess and nutrients.
How to Serve Toddler Smoothies
My favorite way to serve smoothies to little kids is to use a Squeasy reusable pouch or smoothie cup. They are easy to use and clean and last for years and years. They are also really hard for the kids to squirt out on purpose, which is helpful!
Best Tips for Success
- Use the stick that came with your blender (if one did) to help move the ingredients if needed.
- Use fresh peach instead of frozen if desired and add a few ice cubes.
- Use Greek-style yogurt (dairy or nondairy) in place of the cottage cheese if desired.
- Add 2 tablespoons hemp seeds to add more healthy fats and protein.
- Serve in a small open cup, from a bowl with a spoon, or in a reusable pouch.
- If you have any cottage cheese left, try my Cottage Cheese Pancakes and Cottage Cheese Dip.
- You can make this with reduced-sodium cottage cheese, if desired.

Peach Cottage Cheese Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 fresh medium orange (peeled)
- 1/2 frozen banana (about ½ cup)
- 1/2 cup frozen peach slices
- 1/2 cup whole milk cottage cheese
Instructions
- Add the orange to the blender, then top with the additional ingredients.
- Blend, starting on low speed and working up to high until very smooth and creamy. Use the stick that came with your blender to help move the ingredients around if needed—at first it may seem like there's not enough liquid, but there will be as soon as the orange starts to be blended up. (If your blender doesn't have a stick, stop the blender a few times and move the ingredients around with a spoon.)
- Serve immediately in a cup, in a bowl with a spoon, or in a reusable pouch.
Equipment
Notes
- Save any leftovers for a future snack in an airtight container (try to use within 24 hours or freeze into popsicles).
- Put the orange into the blender first since you’ll need the liquid from it to help move the rest of the ingredients around.
- Use the stick that came with your blender (if one did) to help move the ingredients.
- If you don’t have a fresh orange, use ½ cup orange juice.

Would drained and rinsed canned peaches work for this if I added some ice cubes and/or used frozen banana?
Sure!
My favorite smoothie! I love this and so does my 3 year old!
Delicious!!!! Couldn’t pull cup away from daughter. More more!!!
Kind of too thick for my kids and I. I enjoyed the flavor, next time I’d maybe try adding a little almond milk to thin it a little.
Delicious! My two year old and I both loved this!!!
